A Minute with Erik Snijders
Erik Snijders is about to begin his role as Country Manager for Nordic Climate Group in the Netherlands, a rapidly growing market opened in July 2024.
What were your thoughts when Nordic Climate Group reached out to you?
I had noticed their rapid growth and felt flattered. From my very first meeting with Fredrik Gren and Joseph Kuling, it felt right. Really something I truly wanted to be a part of. The more I learned about the goals and strategy, the more excited I became about starting. Now it’s just around the corner, which feels fantastic.
What experience do you bring to Nordic Climate Group?
Entrepreneurship and sustainability have been central to my career, both as an employee and as a management consultant. I’ve also worked with companies in multiple countries. I believe these experiences will be highly valuable in my new role.
How would you describe your approach to work?
Driven, inspiring, and energetic. I enjoy challenges and making progress, especially in sustainability-related businesses. Teamwork is essential to me. Working together from idea to concept to successful execution brings both energy and results.
What’s your impression of Nordic Climate Group and its decentralized model?
The decentralized model is an interesting success factor. There’s much to learn from the Nordic countries in this regard. Combining entrepreneurship with being part of a growing group strikes me as the perfect mix. Clearly, Nordic Climate Group has found the formula for making it work.
What growth opportunities do you foresee?
Nordic Climate Group’s model is clear and compelling. Companies joining the group retain their names, leadership, and customer focus. Adding collaboration on technical development, training, procurement, and shared business opportunities creates significant potential for growth. It’s absolutely realistic for us in the Netherlands to become a leader, just as Nordic Climate Group is in the Nordics, and it shouldn’t take too long.
When do you start, and what’s your first priority?
I start on January 7, and my immediate focus will be getting to know the Dutch companies in the group. I’ll also kickstart growth by acquiring more companies to establish market leadership.
